The Gauntlet has been thrown

In 365 days, four days of intense, sweat-drenching rowing will fill Benderson Park.    If the weather is anything like today (hotter than the Amazon on fire without one cute, fluffy white cloud in the sky),  every stroke will burn and people will be as red as our SCRC uniforms.

I now have one year to get ready to perform at the most intense rowing competition of my entire life.

The Women’s 8+ is aiming to row in the packed “C” class, originally packed with 16 entries whittled down through three heats.   Here are the results from US Rowing:

Those top two ladies boats, in what I’m sure was a thrilling finish,  rowed an estimated 1:47 spilt over the 1000-meter course.

Boy, do I have a long way to go!
